From Wyoming to Utah
Leaving Wyoming behind, we continued our journey into Utah, with Park City as our first destination. Famous for hosting the 2002 Winter Olympics, Park City gave us the chance to watch skiers training as they launched from the ski jumps and flew through the air.
Soon, it was our turn to experience the thrill of going down the slopes, although we traded skis for tubes. Everyone had the opportunity to go tubing, racing downhill at exciting speeds.
We kept the energy high afterward with a visit to Lagoon-A-Beach waterpark and amusement park. We spent the remainder of the afternoon enjoying water slides, relaxing on the lazy river, and riding several of the amusement park’s thrilling roller coasters.
Exploring Bryce Canyon
The following day brought our first major hiking adventure at Bryce Canyon. We were rewarded with spectacular scenery featuring vivid shades of red, orange, and white, along with the canyon’s unusual rock formations.
Our group spent time hiking through the area, taking in the scenery, and capturing plenty of fun photographs together.
Later, we headed to Jake’s Chaparral, where everyone had the chance to dress up in amusing Western-style outfits and learn some line dancing.
The whole group had plenty of laughs as we tried to follow the dance steps while wearing our funny costumes. It was a great way to finish the day with plenty of smiles and shared memories.
Discovering the Grand Canyon
The following day brought another canyon adventure and our second major hike. We traveled into Arizona to visit the world-famous Grand Canyon.
The enormous scale and breathtaking scenery of the canyon created countless memorable moments. We hiked to several viewpoints, taking in spectacular panoramas and posing for photographs with our friends along the way.
After exploring the canyon, we headed to the beautiful coral-pink sand dunes, where we could run across the dunes and roll down the soft sand.
We then divided into teams for a series of entertaining competitions. The activities included a trip-trivia challenge, a wheelbarrow race, human tic-tac-toe, and finally a game of capture the flag.
To finish the evening, each team created its own cheer before competing in a lively cheer-off. Everyone enjoyed competing with their friends, and the combination of games, teamwork, and laughter made for an unforgettable end to another action-packed day.
Hiking in Zion National Park
The next day brought another hike as we continued toward Las Vegas. Along the way, we stopped at Zion National Park for the final major hiking experience of the trip.
We enjoyed lunch inside the park, played games together, and took time to appreciate the dramatic scenery and beautiful horizon surrounding Zion.
The stop provided a relaxing combination of outdoor adventure, friendship, and spectacular natural views before we continued on to Las Vegas.
Exploring the Las Vegas Strip
Once we arrived in Las Vegas, we had the opportunity to explore the famous Strip.
We visited the Venetian hotel before continuing to the spectacular fountain and light show outside the elegant Bellagio and Caesars Palace hotels.
The bright lights, impressive architecture, and energetic atmosphere made Las Vegas a dramatic change from the national parks and outdoor adventures we had experienced during the previous days.
Thrills Above Las Vegas
The following morning, we headed to the top of the Stratosphere for another round of adrenaline-filled activities.
From high above the city, we enjoyed an incredible bird’s-eye view of Las Vegas before experiencing the building’s thrilling drop tower and edge swings.
The excitement continued later at the New York-New York hotel, where we rode an intense roller coaster traveling at speeds of up to 75 mph through a recreation of New York City’s famous skyscrapers.
Afterward, we visited the well-known Coca-Cola and M&M’s stores, where we had the chance to pick up some entertaining and delicious souvenirs.
Arriving on the West Coast
After 26 days of traveling across the United States, we finally reached the West Coast.
What better way to begin our California experience than by visiting the beach? We enjoyed our first warm California sunshine and cooled down with a refreshing swim in the Pacific Ocean.
After so many days of traveling and sightseeing, spending time by the water was a wonderful introduction to California.
A Day at the San Diego Zoo
We then visited the San Diego Zoo, where we encountered an incredible variety of animals, including hippos, giraffes, gorillas, and elephants.
Our tour guide explained more about the animals and also introduced us to the zoo’s conservation work as a nonprofit organization.
We learned plenty of interesting facts during the visit, including the surprising fact that there is technically no such animal as a true black panther.
The zoo offered both an entertaining and educational experience, allowing us to see fascinating animals while learning about efforts to protect wildlife.
Surfing in San Diego
On our final day in San Diego, we returned to the beach for surfing lessons led by professional instructors.
We began on land, where we learned the fundamental techniques and practiced the basic movements needed to stand on a surfboard. Once everyone had become more comfortable with the “pop-up” technique, we headed into the water to try surfing for ourselves.
Riding the waves was an exciting experience, and everyone had a fantastic time. Some members of the group were even inspired to look for opportunities to continue surfing after returning home.
After our surfing session, we relaxed on the beach, played volleyball, and cooled down with delicious shaved ice.
To close out our final day in San Diego, we enjoyed some friendly competition during a game of laser tag, bringing another fun-filled day to an exciting conclusion.

Classic Tiramisù Recipe
The name itself translates as “lift me up,” and while espresso plays a role, the true uplifting element is the cream. Mascarpone cheese blended with egg yolks and sugar is whipped into a silky, airy mixture that is rich enough to hold its form yet soft enough to dissolve on the tongue. Few desserts have traveled from a single Italian origin to global fame with so little change to their identity.
